Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, Distinguished Professor of psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at University of California Davis. Her name is widely praised for launching the modern science of eyewitness memory in children as well as using children who have been abused to serve as witnesses in court. Professor Goodman published widely and has won several grants and was awarded several international and national distinctions. She has advised a variety of authorities and government agencies around the globe on policies and studies pertaining to child victims in the justice system. She currently acts as a advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of several professional associations including those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman is part of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding member of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of America Psychological Association's divisions: Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice.
